San Diego Wedding Video: Rachel + Tommy

WANNA GO SKATE MORE?
Little did Tommy know that as he fell off his skate board one day while riding to class his future wife was standing nearby. When she called him to ask if he could teach her how to skateboard he of course said yes, unsure of what it would lead too. But after a date to a soccer game when Rachel turned and asked, “Wanna go skate some more?” Tommy knew he was in love. Rachel signed her wedding card to him with this memorable question that had led them to this day. Letters, cards, vows, nerf gun stand offs… The little audio moments that told their day were very important to them. And although Ted had to take a couple nerf gun wounds for the team, we didn’t let a moment pass us by. All this became a story with a lot of fun and a lot of heart. This San Diego Wedding Video was filmed at The Catamaran Resort & Spa.

Ally + BJ: A wedding by the sea

Southern California Super 8 Wedding Film

We first met Ally for coffee in San Francisco a few months before her wedding. She was so sweet and pleasant that we knew right away we were going to enjoy working with her (and Brian:) They loved the idea of getting married at the beach and Hotel Del Coronado seemed like the perfect fit as Brian’s family had spent many summers there. When we finally met Brian, moments before the ceremony, he gave us a big huge and said, “my fiance freakin’ loves you guys” …Not a bad way to start the day:) We were joined by Jack of Sarah Yates Photography, Susanne of Crown Weddings, and Karen Tran Florals.

A Modern 8 Films “Featurette”

The extended “Featurette” of Shelly & Dave’s big day.
From the Bride: “The best part of a wedding is all the feelings and emotion you have that day. Ted and Alanna have created a way of capturing those emotions in a way photography and traditional wedding videos can’t. This was the best wedding decision we made. I can’t thank them enough for all their hard work and time put into this. You can see that they individualize everyones films with the music and editing to fit that couple and their day. We are so happy to have this film to watch the rest of our lives. Your wedding day is not complete without them:)”

Scott + Brooke: Mid Century Modern Wedding

A wedding in Palm Springs, CA… Where mid-century modern is alive and well:)

From The Bride: “We LOVE Ted and Alanna and their work and think every couple needs to hire Modern8, it was honestly the smartest decision and best investment we made in ALL of our wedding planning
In our very first meeting, Ted and Alanna instantly felt like our friends — as excited for our wedding day as we were. We felt important and special to them and that made working with them such an easy and nice experience. I really believe their talent and artistic point of view, mixed with their genuine excitement for the couples they video is what makes their work so special and so incredibly beautiful. On our wedding day, I felt so calm knowing Ted and Alanna cared about us and were capturing all the tiny moments that made the day so wonderful — I never worried that they might miss something. And the video they created for us was so far beyond our expectations. They really captured everything — the beauty and excitement of the day, and just how happy and in love we are. It is an amazing, beautiful and romantic time capsule that we will cherish for the rest of our lives and look forward to one day sharing with our children and our grandchildren.”

From The Groom: “NAILED IT!”

1960′s San Francisco

San Francisco Wedding Video

San Francisco is a city with inspiration around every corner. It was the perfect setting for Jason and Yvonne’s 1960′s “Mad Men” style wedding held at San Francisco’s City Hall. This was a wedding we could have shot over and over… We loved working with these two and found their simple city wedding very refreshing. After their city hall nuptials they walked to their reception. This allowed us to shoot them in a very natural environment, letting their story unfold as it happened. The unexpected moments, such as the pet store they passed along the way, getting stuck at a traffic light during rush hour, and the sweet glances exchanged as they walked along told the real story of their day. We endeavored to capture the city in a surreal, stylized way to set the stage for this charming love story. We were also joined by photographer Angi Welsch and coordinator Emily Blake.

From the bride & groom: “Working with Alanna & Ted was SUCH a great experience. We initially selected them because we liked their editing style. My husband works in the advertising industry and was VERY picky about how the video would be edited. After meeting with Ted & Alanna the first time, we knew it was the right decision. They totally understood what we wanted and were very good listeners. When it came time for our wedding, we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We never had to ask them to be anywhere or do anything, because they had it all covered. The results were AMAZING and the compliments from friends and family (and even a few strangers) were endless. Our wedding was posted on Style Me Pretty and I received several compliments from strangers, telling me that our video made them cry. One of my best friends from childhood’s mother is currently planning on of her daughter’s wedding and she told me whenever she gets stressed out or thinks that the wedding planning isn’t going to be worth it, she watches our wedding video at work and it renews her inspiration! Beyond the compliments though, our wedding video is truly something that my husband and I cherish and will have for the rest of our lives to remember the best day of our lives. Working with Alanna & Ted was definitely PRICELESS!”
